Best robotic pool cleaner for above-ground pools
Our verdict
Buy the Beatbot Sora 10 ($469 on beatbot.com) if you want the floor, walls and waterline cleaned in an above-ground pool. Buy the WYBOT C1 ($399.99 on wybotpool.com) if your pool is under 1,615 sq ft and price comes first. Buy the Dolphin E10 ($568 at Home Depot) if you only need the floor and want a corded robot you never charge. Skip most Aiper models for now: Aiper's US store lists its robots for in-ground pools.

Short answer: the Beatbot Sora 10 at $469 on beatbot.com is our pick for most above-ground pools, because it cleans the floor, walls and waterline and lists above-ground pools on its spec sheet. If you only need the floor done, the corded Dolphin E10 is $568 at Home Depot. Prices seen Oct 29, 2026.
Which robotic pool cleaners work in above-ground pools?
Beatbot also says the AquaSense 2 Ultra works in above-ground pools, but at $2,299 it's priced for big in-ground pools. Our best robotic pool cleaners list covers it.
Is a floor-only robot enough for an above-ground pool?
Often, yes. Most debris settles on the floor, and a floor-only Dolphin costs less to run than you'd think. The catch is the walls. Maytronics' answers on the E10 listing say it doesn't climb walls, so you'll still brush them. If a ring builds at your waterline, the Sora 10 is the one that scrubs it.
Can Aiper or WYBOT robots clean above-ground pools?
WYBOT, yes; Aiper, not on paper. WYBOT's comparison table lists the C1, C2 and C2 Vision for above-ground and in-ground pools. Aiper's US store labels its robots for in-ground pools, including the Scuba S1 and Scuba S3. Aiper's X1 troubleshooting page also says its X1 robots may slide on above-ground walls steeper than 80 degrees. See the Aiper and WYBOT hubs for each brand's lineup.
How do you get a robot out of an above-ground pool?
Lift it over the wall, so weight and retrieval matter more than in an in-ground pool. The Sora 10 weighs 18.74 lbs and parks at the waterline, but PCWorld's reviewer said it sinks again after a few minutes, so time your pickup. The Polaris FREEDOM's Tap & Lift brings it to you. Corded Dolphins come up by the cable. Maytronics' manual says don't lift a Dolphin by its cable, so pull it to the wall and lift it by the handle.

Which above-ground pool robot is cheapest to own?
Start with the sticker. At the prices above, the WYBOT C1 costs $69.01 less than the Sora 10 ($469 minus $399.99), and the Sora 10 costs $99 less than the E10 ($568 minus $469). All four list 2-year warranties, so there's no warranty gap to price in. To compare any of them with a pool service, plug the price into the robot vs pool service calculator.
What about Florida above-ground pools?
They run year-round, so the robot runs year-round. Pollen settles in spring, per UF/IFAS, and that fine dust favors a fine basket; the E10's listing says it comes with a 50 micron basket. For a screened pool, read algae and pollen in screened lanais. For a liner pool on salt, read vinyl liner and saltwater pools.
Shortlist more models in the pool robot finder, check specs in the comparison database, or browse the Beatbot, Dolphin and WYBOT hubs.
US availability side note: models the FCC authorized before its July 2026 robot rule can still be sold here. Read the FCC robot rule explained or use the US availability check.
