Aiper vs Beatbot: which pool robot should you buy?

Updated

Our verdict

Buy Beatbot if you want the stronger warranty and a longer owner track record: Beatbot's policy covers the robot body, battery included, for 36 months on the AquaSense 2, AquaSense 2 Ultra and Sora 70. Buy Aiper if you want more suction and basket per dollar: the Scuba V3 Ultra lists 8,500 GPH for $1,899.99, $399 less than the AquaSense 2 Ultra, but it's new and owner reports are still thin.

Which should you buy, Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra or Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra?

Short answer: Beatbot for the warranty terms and known owner record; Aiper for suction, shallow-area coverage and a lower price. At the budget end, the $799 AquaSense 2 beats the $849.99 Scuba V3 for salt pools because of its 3-year battery coverage, while the V3 adds a top-load basket and a camera.

Short answer: buy Beatbot if you want the clearer warranty and a robot with a long owner record, and buy Aiper if you want more suction and basket for the money. In the flagship matchup, the Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra is $1,899.99 on aiper.store and the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra is $2,299 on beatbot.com, both seen Oct 29, 2026.

Which is better, Aiper or Beatbot?

It depends on what you'd rather have: a stronger warranty or a stronger spec sheet. Beatbot's warranty policy gives 36 months on the main body, which it defines to include the battery, motors, sensors and power supply, for the AquaSense 2, AquaSense 2 Ultra, Sora 70 and iSkim in the US. The policy also says a replacement may be refurbished and that you pay shipping to the service center.

Aiper's newest robots list bigger numbers. Aiper's spec sheet for the V3 Ultra claims 8,500 GPH and 3,875 sq ft per run, against 5,500 GPH for the AquaSense 2 Ultra on Beatbot's page. The V3 Ultra is new, though, and we haven't seen enough owner reports on it yet to summarize.

Aiper Scuba V3 vs Beatbot AquaSense 2: which budget robot?

Buy the AquaSense 2 for a salt pool or if the warranty matters most. It lists a wireless charging dock, salt tolerance below 5,000 ppm and Beatbot's 36-month coverage. Owners on r/Beatbot_Tech report 3 to 4.5 hour runs and complain about the small 2 L basket.

Buy the Scuba V3 if leaves are your main debris. Aiper's V3 page lists a 3.5 L top-load basket, up to 180 minutes per run (210 in ECO), a 5-hour charge, a dock with auto-return and an AI camera it calls VisionPath (company claim). It weighs 18.2 lbs, about 5 lbs less than the AquaSense 2's listed 23.08 lbs.

Beatbot Sora 70 vs Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max: which mid-range robot?

The Sora 70 is $1,099 and lists 6,800 GPH, 3,229 sq ft and platform cleaning down to 8 in, with Beatbot's 3-year coverage. Its 3 micron ultra-fine basket is a $59.99 add-on. The X1 Pro Max is $600 more at Home Depot and lists a 5 L basket and the 8,500 GPH claim. Owners on r/pools describe app drops on the X1 Pro Max, and Reviewed.com said Aiper's HydroComm add-on mostly fixed connectivity in its review.

Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra vs Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max: which flagship?

These are the two cordless flagships most shoppers end up choosing between. Pick the Beatbot for camera-guided cleaning in a large, standard-shaped pool, and the Aiper for a leafy pool where surface skimming and a fine filter matter more.

What reviewers found lines up with the spec sheets. PCWorld rated the Beatbot's floor, wall and waterline cleaning highly but called its surface mode the weakest, with leaves pushed aside by its bow wave. T3 found the Aiper's slow surface skimming collected more floating debris than faster rivals, and its floor cleaning handled fine sand and silt well. On both, owners say the app goes quiet underwater and the lift out is heavy.

What do Aiper and Beatbot owners report?

  • Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra: floating instead of finishing on pools with sloped sides, snagging on raised drain covers, and one owner's report of hazed sensor windows after months in salt water (sloped pool, drain, sensor windows threads on r/Beatbot_Tech).
  • Aiper X1 Pro Max: app and connectivity drops, floating and missed areas (r/pools).
  • Both: Beatbot's help center and Aiper's support pages blame a clogged basket first for weak climbing and short runtimes.

If a robot already misbehaves, see pool robot not climbing walls or the not moving or charging checklist for brand fixes.

Aiper or Beatbot: pros and cons

Aiper pros: lower prices across the lineup, 3 micron MicroMesh filters on the X series, effective slow surface skimming on the X1 Pro Max.

Aiper cons: app connectivity is the most common owner complaint, and some owners report cycles that end early.

Beatbot pros: camera navigation on the Ultra, a 36-month warranty across the AquaSense line, edge parking with alerts.

Beatbot cons: owners report trouble in pools with sloped sides, standard baskets stop at 150 micron, and the Ultra's surface mode is its weak spot.

Which is better for a Florida screened pool?

In a screened lanai, leaves are rare and pollen, sand and dust are the daily load, since screens stop leaves but let fine particles through. That favors fine filtration over basket size. Beatbot's help center says its standard 150 micron basket lets fine sand, dust and algae through and offers a 3 micron ultra-fine basket free on request, and the V3 Ultra lists a 3 micron MicroMesh layer. An open pool under oaks favors the bigger baskets on the X1 Pro Max or V3.
